God is a consuming fire, and he will burn up the enemies of his children. His fire will consume anything that threatens them such as depression, fear, poverty, relationship problems, disobedience and sickness. He works in their lives according to the fire power within them. 
Stress is a destructive enemy which destroys people who allow it to take hold in their lives. God has provided a spiritual weapon, joy, to combat and overcome stress. Unlike happiness which is based on circumstances, joy is an unchanging force, strengthening believers. The joy of the Lord is their strength. God imparts his joy into believers as they come before him. In God's presence there is fullness of joy. Joy is a mighty power to overcome stress.
